This particular aerial socket fits escutcheons with inner slots.  This means the slots are adjacent to the inner grommet.
Take off your antenna escutcheon without worrying about damaging it.  You were just about to use a screwdriver and a hammer weren't you?  Put those down.  You're not driving a Ford.
